Residential Support Worker
Hourly Rate: £11.50 to £12.00 per hour (depending on qualifications). The rate will increase in January 2025.
Working Hours: Two-week rolling rota
Week 1: Tuesday and Friday
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday
Reports to: Team Leader

Role Purpose:
As a Residential Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of a Team Leader to provide high-quality care within a residential setting. You will mentor and support the individuals in our care, helping them develop essential life skills in preparation for supported living.

Role Context:
You will be part of a dedicated support team, delivering safe and appropriate care while following established procedures. This role involves communication with team leaders and management to ensure the best care outcomes for the individuals we support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and advocate for the individuals in our care, promoting dignity and respect at all times.
• Maintain accurate records of observations and care activities under the supervision of a Team Leader.
• Assist with the development of life skills through activities and personal care, supporting individuals with various needs such as learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and autism.
• Promote a safe environment by adhering to health, safety, and security procedures.
• Actively participate in training, development, and performance reviews to continuously improve care standards.
• Safeguard individuals against any form of abuse and report concerns to the appropriate person immediately.

Skills and Experience Required:

• A good general educational background.
• Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to build positive interpersonal relationships with service users and maintain professional boundaries.
• Experience in working with individuals who have learning disabilities, ASD, or mental health conditions is an advantage.
• Understanding and application of equal opportunity principles.

Working Environment:
This role is based in a residential setting that cares for individuals with learning disabilities, ASD, or mental health conditions. You will be working in an environment that requires vigilance, including managing potential risks and aggressive behavior from individuals we support. Full training, including MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression), will be provided.
