Job Summary:
Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for an experienced and dynamic Registered Manager to lead and manage a small residential home dedicated to providing care and support to young adults with mental health conditions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring high standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the development of a compassionate and effective care team. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering person-centered care in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential home, ensuring that all care and support services are delivered to the highest standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of care staff, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.
• Ensure the home is fully compliant with CQC standards and other regulatory requirements, maintaining a strong focus on quality assurance.
• Manage the home's budget effectively, ensuring financial sustainability while maintaining high-quality care.
• Conduct regular staff supervisions, appraisals, and training to ensure continuous professional development.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, regularly reviewing and updating care plans, policies, and procedures.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices related to mental health care and residential care services.
• Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Prepare for and manage inspections by regulatory bodies, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
• NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or equivalent) is essential.
• Registered Manager status with experience managing a residential or similar care setting.
• Strong understanding of mental health conditions and experience working with young adults in a residential care environment.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
