Job Title: Registered Children's Manager
Location: Preston
Salary: £65,000 per annum

About the Role:
Rory at Amber Mace is recruiting an experienced and dynamic Registered Children's Manager to lead a newly established service in the Preston area. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with proven experience in managing children's services, particularly within an Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in commissioning a new service, overseeing the setup, and managing day-to-day operations to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take the lead in establishing and managing a new children's service, ensuring all systems, policies, and procedures are in place for optimal functioning.
• Ensure the service is compliant with regulatory requirements, including Ofsted standards, and maintain excellent relationships with commissioners and other stakeholders.
• Oversee all aspects of the service, including staffing, recruitment, and training, ensuring the highest level of care and support for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child, ensuring a person-centred approach is always maintained.
• Lead a team of dedicated professionals, providing guidance, supervision, and support, with a focus on performance management and staff development.
• Monitor the wellbeing and progress of the children in care, ensuring their safety, health, and emotional needs are met at all times.
• Establish and maintain strong partnerships with external agencies, including local authorities, schools, and healthcare providers, to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
• Manage budgets effectively, ensuring financial stability and cost-efficient delivery of services without compromising quality.
• Handle any complaints, incidents, or safeguarding concerns in a timely and appropriate manner, ensuring compliance with all safeguarding protocols and best practices.

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an EBD or children's residential care setting. Experience in commissioning a new service is highly desirable.
• Qualifications: Registered Manager with a valid Ofsted registration and relevant qualifications, including Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards, as well as safeguarding protocols and best practices for children's care.
• Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Experience in budget management, ensuring financial control while maintaining service quality.
• Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines to ensure a high standard of care.
• Proven ability to work closely with external stakeholders, including commissioners and social services.
• Passion for Care: A genuine passion for improving the lives of children, especially those with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
