As Deputy Nurse Manager, you will be integral to the daily management of nursing and care services, supporting the Registered Manager in maintaining the home's excellent reputation for quality and compliance. You will lead a compassionate team, ensuring that residents receive the highest standards of clinical and personal care.

Responsibilities:

•Leadership & Management: Assist in the overall management of the care home, providing strong leadership to the nursing and care staff, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
•Care Standards: Ensure the delivery of exceptional person-centred care, maintaining the home's commitment to dignity, independence, and quality of life for all residents.
•Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with CQC standards and other relevant regulations, contributing to inspections and maintaining the highest level of care quality.
•Staff Development: Support the recruitment, training, and ongoing professional development of nursing and care teams, ensuring high staff morale and retention.
•Clinical Oversight: Monitor the clinical care provided, conducting audits and care reviews to maintain high standards, and ensuring all care is evidence-based and in line with best practices.
•Resident & Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with residents and their families, ensuring that care plans are regularly reviewed and tailored to meet individual needs.
•Support the Registered Manager: Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring operational continuity, including on-call duties and handling complex care issues as they arise.
•Performance Management: Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and performance reviews, addressing any issues and supporting career development.
•Health & Safety: Oversee health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working and living environment for staff and residents.

Skills:
•NMC Registered Nurse: A current PIN and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is essential.
•Experience in Elderly Care: Strong background in nursing care within a residential or nursing home setting, with a deep understanding of elderly care and dementia care.
•Leadership Abilities: Proven experience in managing or supervising a nursing team, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead by example.
•Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of CQC regulations, policies, and procedures, with experience in contributing to CQC inspections.
•Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and the wider healthcare team.
•Problem-Solving & Resilience: Demonstrated ability to handle challenges, manage multiple priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
•Commitment to Quality: A passion for delivering high-quality care, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

•Registered Nurse (NMC): Current registration and PIN with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
•Experience in Elderly Care: Extensive experience in a residential care setting, with a particular focus on geriatric and dementia care.
•Additional Certifications: Evidence of ongoing professional development and training in health and social care.
