Job Title: Deputy Manager
Location: York
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible start times available)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a well-established, medium-sized care home in York. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality dementia care.
You will work closely with the Registered Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, while supporting a team of two Team Leaders on each side of the home.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Registered Manager in running the home effectively and in line with regulatory requirements.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the care team.
Monitor and maintain high standards of dementia care.
Oversee care planning, audits, staff supervision, and team performance.
Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and external agencies.
Cover occasional shifts where needed (though not a regular requirement).
Contribute to rota planning and staff development.
Requirements:
NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it).
Experience in dementia care is essential.
Previous leadership experience in a care setting.
Will consider strong Senior Carers or Team Leaders ready for the next step.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Flexibility to support the needs of the home and its residents.
