Salary: £47,500 to £55,000

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Manager to oversee the operations of a small Children's Home in Colchester. The ideal candidate will either be an existing Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager within a Children's Home setting. The Children's Manager will ensure the highest standards of care and support are provided to the children, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the daily operations of the Children's Home, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all residents.
- Lead and supervise a team of care staff, promoting professional development and high standards of practice.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring the holistic development of each child.
- Ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations and standards, preparing for inspections and addressing any areas for improvement.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and external partners, including social workers and education professionals.
- Oversee budget management, resource allocation, and financial planning to ensure efficient operations of the home.
- Implement safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the protection and welfare of all children.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure the home meets its goals and objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory and organizational requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a Children's Home setting.
- In-depth understanding of OFSTED regulations and the ability to navigate and comply with these standards.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and external agencies.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and the ability to implement these in a residential setting.
- Relevant qualification in social work, childcare, or a related field is desirable.
