Lindsay at Amber Mace is working on behalf of a national occupational health provider who is currently recruiting for an Occupational Health Advisor to in Sunderland, paying a salary of up to £38k! There is some travel required occasionally, to the Durham and Newcastle areas, so a full UK driving license is essential for this role.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Registration with NMC, Part 1
• OH Qualified – Diploma/Degree
• IT literate
• Relevant experience working in an OH environment
• Adept in the provision of: Spirometry, Audiometry, General Medicals, Drug and Alcohol screening, Case Management, Fitness for role assessment, Driver Medicals, Night-worker medicals
• Full UK Driving Licence

Duties:
• Assessment of new clients
• Appraisal of client fitness and suitability for the corresponding job role and supply appropriate fitness certificates
• Supporting the occupational health manager in the direction, surveying, and appraisal of the OH team
• Maintain and update records in line with company policy
• Provide health surveillance in accordance with current legislation
• Assist the OH nurses & advisors in providing clinical excellence by ensuring all training is up to date
• Design and implement Health Promotion initiatives
• Take responsibility for maintenance of equipment
• Coordinate resources and staff
• This role will be roughly 90% case management and 10% fitness for work assessments and health surveillance activities

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with clinics, client sites and home based appointments, using their innovative technology to enhance their customer’s experience.
Role Duties:
With this role, you will undertake a range of services, including the following:
• You will conduct health surveillance and provide reports
• You will provide assessments and screening, reporting the outcomes in line with our clients procedures
• You will be responsible for case management, providing reports for the OH Managers when required
• Provide clear advice regarding health and wellbeing
• Create risk assessments and report appropriately if required
• Assist with providing preventative strategies
• Conduct pre-placement reviews, and fitness for work reports when required.
Requirements:
• Registered General Nurse, NMC registered
• You must hold a valid NMC Pin
• For this position, you are required to hold an Occupational Health Qualification (degree/diploma)
• Previous experience within the Occupational Health sector
• Due to the travel between clinics, sites and homes – the ideal candidate would have a driving license and own vehicle.
