Amber Mace are currently recruiting for a Unit Manager to join the team at a specialist home for those living with Dementia and other Mental Health conditions based in Hounslow. As Unit Manager, you will take charge of the unit and clinical staff. The successful candidate will be clinically sound and a confident leader, dedicated to governing and maintaining the Unit. You will also need to be a fully qualified nurse with a valid PIN, with proven experience of managing a team in a nursing home environment or similar.

As Unit Manager, your duties will include:
• Taking responsibility for the general well-being of the residents, including making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met
• Overall responsibility of the Unit during the day
• Supervising clinical staff
• Monitoring work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to relevant standards, policies and legislation

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience:
• Valid nursing PIN ESSENTIAL (RMN)
• Experience of working with adults with complex mental health needs

Clinical Lead – £40k – Small Home

Clinical Lead – £40k – Small Home

Shifts: Full time – Mainly clinical shifts (40 hours minimum) with a view to some office time to complete deputy based tasks such as audits etc.
As Deputy Manager, you will be involved with the running of the home in the absence of the Home Manager in the general day-to-day running of the Home. You will be a strong authoritative presence while the manager is away and will support the team at a supervisory level. You will possess strong clinical skills and will ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the health and social care environment.

The Role of Deputy Manager:
• Support and deputise for the Home Manager in their absence
• Assist the delegation of workloads and nursing resources
• Ensure accurate care records are kept and incidents/accidents are reported in accordance to the company policy
• Promote and maintain a high standard of nursing care
• To ensure effective induction of all staff, together with supervision of trained staff, as well as providing mentorship, assessment and induction of new care staff
• Conform to the latest guidelines and maintain the highest levels of care governance whilst regularly auditing practices and procedures

Skills/ Qualifications required of the Deputy Nurse Manager:
• Valid NMC PIN – essential
• Strong clinical skills and experience
• Experience at a supervisory level
• Ability to supervise and lead a clinical team
• Possess a strong understanding of the needs of people living with dementia and other age related illnesses.
