Claire at Amber Mace is currently looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join the team at a medium care home based in Stoke on Trent.

This is a purpose –built care home that provides specialist care for the elderly, some of whom are living with dementia or other age-related conditions.

As Senior Care Assistant, you will provide supervision of residents and staff in the home manager and deputy’s absence. Your duties will centre on providing the highest standards of care to the home’s residents as well as ensuring that their physical, social and emotional needs are met. You will lead a team of care assistants as a key part of your role in delivering a high level of care.

Role requirements for the Senior Care Assistant:
• Supporting and supervising the team
• Training and development
• Developing therapeutic or beneficial relationships with residents/colleagues
• Delivering high standards of person-centred care
• Attend regular meetings
• Help maintain cleanliness and tidiness of home
• Support the Home Manager in implementing personalised care plans, and reviewing and monitoring these on a regular basis

Skills/Qualifications for the Senior Care Assistant:
• NVQ Level 2 is essential – NVQ Level 3 is also preferred but not essential
• Experience working in elderly/dementia care
• Excellent communication & organisational skills
• Must have up to date Medication training
