Salary: £32.3 34.6k + CPD hours
Location: Cheltenham
Hours: Term-Time (44 hours per week, 39 weeks)
Are you an highly experienced Speech and Language Therapist with who specialises in Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) looking to join an outstanding college working within a multidisciplinary team providing specialist further education for people with complex physical and learning difficulties?

Role:
Responsible for the management of learners within a personal caseload
Support development and learning across all elements of their Curriculum
Train, coach and mentor staff in developing the best service possible
1 to 1 interaction with pupils
Supporting and developing pupils ability to develop receptive and expressive communications skills
Include the use of visuals and modified language use
Provide recommendations and adaptions to encourage total communication
Develop functional language skills and independence
Qualifications/Requirements:
Speech and Language degree
Membership with the RCSLT
Keen interest working with people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disability; Autistic Spectrum Disorder, physical disability and/or Acquired Brain Injury
Knowledge of Alternative and Augmentative Communication is essential, with evidence based practice, including complex AAC assessment and intervention programmes
Makatan and/or Intensive Interaction experience is desirable
Knowledge of special educational needs and the Autism Spectrum
Clinical experience working with children (at least 1 to 2 years)
