Hours: Full-time

Amber Mace is proud to partner with a respected residential childcare provider in Blackpool to recruit a dedicated Children’s Team Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate professional to step into a leadership role within a supportive, child-focused environment.

The home provides high-quality care for adolescents who present with emotional or behavioural difficulties, offering a nurturing and structured setting where young people are supported to achieve their potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading a committed team of care staff, ensuring the delivery of safe, compassionate and consistent care.

The Role

The Team Leader will lead by example, providing day-to-day guidance and support to care staff while working directly with young people. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and motivating the care team to deliver exceptional standards of care.

  • Supporting young people in their daily lives, helping them to develop independence and confidence.

  • Promoting education, health, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring care is always child-centred.

  • Participating in activities, outings, and educational support to engage and inspire young people.

  • Maintaining accurate and professional records, reports, and communication logs.

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and safeguarding standards.

  • Taking part in household duties to maintain a warm, safe and homely environment.

  • Supporting and mentoring team members through supervision, guidance and training.

About You

The ideal candidate will be calm under pressure, approachable, and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will have:

  • A minimum of 18 months’ experience in residential childcare or a similar setting.

  • A Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards).

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and support others.

  • A professional, caring, and resilient attitude with a genuine passion for youth development.

  • A full UK driving licence (essential, due to the nature of the role).

Why Join

This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people. As a valued member of the team, you’ll receive:

  • Competitive pay of £13.50 per hour.

  • £53 per sleep-in allowance.

  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

  • Supportive management and a collaborative team culture.

  • Opportunities to progress within an expanding organisation that truly values its staff.

If you are passionate about helping young people thrive and have the leadership skills to make a positive impact, this could be the perfect role for you.
